Artist names and confidential pseudonyms

If you intend to use names other than your legal name in performances or releases, such names must be registered with Koda. This may include an artist name or a confidential pseudonym.

Artist name

It may be relevant to have works registered under an artist name, particularly where this is the name by which you are known. An artist name is not intended to conceal the identity of the author of the work, but rather to make it easier for listeners to recognise the artist. Artist names are only registered for those works where the artist name is specified at the time of registration.

Confidential pseudonym

In some cases, you may wish to completely conceal your identity as the author of a musical work. In such cases, you may request that Koda create a confidential pseudonym for you. This means a pseudonym under which your real name is kept confidential. A confidential pseudonym is only registered for those works that are registered under that pseudonym at the time of registration.

Note

An author’s first pseudonym is registered free of charge. For subsequent pseudonyms, Koda may charge a fee to cover its administrative costs. This fee is DKK 500 plus VAT per registration.
