Koda establishes Executive Management Team and appoints new Chief Commercial Officer

13. January 2026

Koda, the music rights organisation for composers, songwriters and music publishers, is today implementing a number of changes to its senior management. The changes are designed to strengthen Koda’s strategic leadership at a time when the music industry is undergoing rapid transformation, shaped by the growing influence of global tech companies on music consumption and by advances in artificial intelligence.

As part of the new management structure, Koda is establishing an Executive Management Team that, together with the Chief Executive Officer, will provide stronger strategic direction for the organisation. In addition, Koda has appointed a Chief Commercial Officer, who will assume overall responsibility for the departments that negotiate and manage agreements for the use of music.

Together, these changes are intended to reinforce Koda’s work to support a strong music ecosystem and ensure fair remuneration for composers, songwriters and music publishers in an increasingly complex and fast-moving industry.

New Chief Commercial Officer

Anne Sophie Gersdorff Schrøder will take up the newly created role of Chief Commercial Officer on 1 April. She joins Koda from a position as Director at the rights organisation Gramex. Commenting on the appointment, Koda’s Chief Executive Officer, Gorm Arildsen, says:

“With the appointment of Anne Sophie as Chief Commercial Officer, we are strengthening Koda’s ability to navigate an increasingly complex market for music consumption. Her background at both Gramex and Koda gives her deep insight into the music industry and the market conditions we operate in. I very much look forward to welcoming Anne Sophie back to Koda.”

Anne Sophie Gersdorff Schrøder looks forward to joining Koda’s Executive Management Team, where she will be responsible for the organisation’s commercial activities and for ensuring that Koda’s members receive fair remuneration when their music is used - from shops and restaurants to concerts, radio, television and streaming services.

“Koda is undergoing an exciting period of development and plays a vital role in shaping both the Danish and international music industry. This is reflected, among other things, in a strong focus on the future of human-created music, where AI brings new opportunities while also challenging fair and equitable remuneration for music creators. I look forward to contributing to Koda’s crucial work in negotiating strong agreements for the benefit of all Koda members,” says Anne Sophie Gersdorff Schrøder.

Executive Management Team to strengthen strategic execution

Anne Sophie Gersdorff Schrøder will join Koda’s newly established Executive Management Team, which - in addition to Chief Executive Officer Gorm Arildsen - will consist of three senior leaders with extensive experience in securing fair remuneration for composers, songwriters and music publishers:

  • Martin Folmann, Director Members’ Department, responsible for Koda’s member services for authors and music publishers, Koda’s international department - which manages agreements with sister organisations internationally - and Koda Kultur. Martin has a long career in the music industry, including senior roles at Koda and previously at Universal Music.
  • Nicky Valbjørn Trebbien, Director of Legal & Public Policy, responsible for Koda’s legal and public policy work, communications, public affairs and initiatives supporting a sustainable music industry. Nicky joined Koda in 2024 after serving as Head of Office at the Danish Ministry of Culture.
  • Maria Juul Brinch, Chief Operating Officer, responsible for Koda’s IT, data, distribution and digitisation. Maria has held overall responsibility for the development of Koda’s IT systems for more than six years, ensuring fast and accurate payments to members. She also brings extensive experience in managing large-scale IT projects from organisations including GN Group, DSB and TDC.

Commenting on the new Executive Management Team, Gorm Arildsen says:

“At a time when the tectonic plates of the music industry are shifting rapidly and the complexity of our work is increasing, it is essential that Koda strengthens its ability to execute strategically. We must be able to make clear decisions for the future and translate strategy into action. I very much look forward to continuing my collaboration with strong leaders such as Martin, Maria and Nicky, while also beginning a new chapter with Anne Sophie. Together, they are the right team to lead the work of building a stronger music ecosystem in Denmark and securing fair remuneration for music creators.”

In connection with the establishment of the Executive Management Team, a number of other minor adjustments have also been made to Koda’s management structure.
