Every Friday, Coco Hotel in Vesterbro, Copenhagen, invites guests to a regular music event. A music concept where guests and locals can experience the Danish culture in the hotel's beautiful café and courtyard.
The hotel guests' desire to experience Danish culture is fulfilled when guests and locals step in for wine and vinyl on Friday afternoons.
Through the regular music concepts, locals have learned that Coco Hotel is an attractive place to stay – even when the music is off. The hotel's ability to convert the day's 'empty hours' into attracting the local population obviously has an impact on the economy.
We don't have a tradition of frequenting hotels. Therefore, we have developed a music concept that aligns with our brand, caters to our guests, and appeals to potential local customers.

Hotel guests typically have plans on Friday evening, when locals stop by before heading out into the city. Many locals visit the hotel's café afterwards to work during the weekdays. A solution that fits perfectly, as the hotel's guests are usually out exploring Copenhagen during the daytime. In this way, the hotel makes efficient use of time and space. The hotel's liveevents are a success because they cater to the guests' desire for a personal travel experience while also providing the hotel with a broader economic benefit.
At Coco Hotel, music holds a high value. They experience a strange atmosphere if they don't play music, and guests simply stay away. Therefore, they create playlists for different times of the day in varying tempos that match the guests' mood.
The background music should blend seamlessly into the environment. We curate the music to suit the mood for morning coffee, afternoon drinks, and evening hours. We frequently update the playlist to prevent our employees from growing tired of hearing the same tunes.

Whether you're playing music at a hotel, restaurant, or café, it enhances the experience for both guests and employees. Therefore, it's important to invest in the music concept you provide. Matthias shares three tips for successfully integrating music into your venue.
If you want to pamper your guests and employees with music that sets the right mood, you can get a music license. It grants you permission to play more than 38 million songs. If you choose to host live events, you also need a music license for that. The music license ensures that the creators of the music are compensated for the value the music creates for you.
Did you know that your employees care a lot about the music you play in the workplace? Here's some tips for including them in your choice of music and why that's a good idea.
