Concerts
You will receive royalty payment for your music if it is played live at venues, festivals, or local cafés. You just need to report the concerts at My Koda no later than one month after the actual concert date.
When can I expect a payment?
Once you report your concert on My Koda, it takes approximately 2-6 months for the payment to be processed.
How much do I get for a concert?
These factors influence your payment:
- Payments from the promoter
- The duration of the live performance
- To what extent how much of the music played live is yours or other rightsholder's
- Ticket revenues and/or the number of attendees
- The size of the venue or stage e.g. at a festival
With all these variables in play, it can be difficult to give specific figures on what you can expect to receive for a concert.
Three steps to get paid for a live perfomance
1. Report your concert
You need to report your live performances no later that a month after the concert at My Koda. Yoy must submit details of where you performed live, your setlist and who the organizer is.
2. The venue informs and pays
The venue or promoter informs us if they host a live performance and obtains the music license. Most venues pay automatically, while others are contacted by us after we receive your claim.
3. We distribute
When we have received and fully processed reports on the music performed and received and processed payment information on the individual concerts the distribution is carried out.

Important information about concerts
Who is responsible for reporting the concert?
You need to report it yourself. If you are a member of a band, only one member needs to report the concert at My Koda. If you know your music has been played by others, you can report that too. Contact us if you don't have all the information; the concert might already be reported by someone else, and we just need to add your works.
Do I get paid if I organize the concert myself?
If you are the concert promoter and have rented a venue, you 'become' a customer and must pay Koda for the use of the music. If you are performing your own music, you will receive payment from us afterwards.
