International music usage
- We distribute royalty payments for international performances about a year after your music has been used/played. Note, there are no payments for royalties from France (SACEM) this month.
Distribution spotlight
New Work Database Platform
On January 20, 2025, Koda transitioned to a new work database platform, moving from ICE Copyright to ICE CUBE. As a result of this transition, our distributions are now based on the ICE CUBE work database.
This transition may mean that your royalty payment is smaller than the same period last year, as we have opted for a more manual processing of certain areas of distribution to ensure the quality of our royalty payments. However, this is only temporary, and we expect our distributions to stabilize over the coming months.
Note: Payments from SACEM are temporarily on hold due to issues with the tax authorities in France.
How much will I get paid?
The royalty payment we send to you for the use of your music is based on several factors, depending on where the music is used. For example, on TV and radio, we talk about minute values, whereas streaming is based on the number of streams. Concerts are paid out based on the number of attendees and, among other things, ticket prices if any.
