Distribution spotlight

DR On Demand and DR's archive Bonanza

Royalty payments are ready for the full year of 2024 through DR On Demand, covering music usage on both DRTV and DR Lyd.

Additionally, a payment has been issued for an extended period related to DR’s archive service, Bonanza. Following a prolonged period of disagreement among various groups of rights holders, Koda has reached a distribution agreement with Copydan concerning Bonanza. This agreement enables the disbursement of previously withheld funds for the period 2015–2024.

Payments from France withheld due to tax issues

The French performance rights organization SACEM has, since January 1, 2025, withheld royalty payments to Koda.
This is due to French authorities indicating that the royalty payments may be subject to local taxation - a situation we are actively working to change.

We had hoped for a quicker resolution, but the royalty payments have been put on hold in the hope that the issue can be resolved before the end of the year. This is being done to help you, as a member, avoid potential double taxation.

Payments from Germany resumed

We’re pleased to share the good news that our tax-related challenges concerning royalty payments from Germany have now been resolved. This means we have received funds from Germany for the first half of 2025, and we will begin distributing these amounts over the coming months.

Earlier this year, we had to pause royalty payments from Germany to avoid potential double taxation - but the issue has now been successfully resolved.

How much will I get paid?

The royalty payment we send to you for the use of your music is based on several factors, depending on where the music is used. For example, on TV and radio, we talk about minute values, whereas streaming is based on the number of streams. Concerts are paid out based on the number of attendees and, among other things, ticket prices if any.
