Distribution Spotlight

DR On Demand, Regional Orchestras and Uptown TV

This distribution includes royalties from DR On Demand, covering the use of music across DR’s digital platforms in 2025. This applies to music used in TV programmes, films and series on DRTV, as well as in radio and podcasts on DR LYD.

In addition, this distribution includes the annual payment for concerts performed by the Danish Regional Orchestras in 2025, as well as royalties for the use of music on Uptown TV (Jul and Classic) in 2025.

Blank audio and audiovisual media

This distribution includes royalties from the Blank audio and audiovisual media scheme for 2025. The scheme covers various forms of private copying, including digital copying on tablets, smartphones, PCs and other devices. The amounts distributed relate to audio and audiovisual media respectively. The distribution is based on analogue datasets from the music streaming and video-on-demand (VOD) sectors.

Significant International Distribution

This distribution includes a substantial amount of royalties from the international use of music and is significantly higher than usual. It includes quarterly payments from several of the sister societies from which Koda typically receives large royalty payments, including STIM (Sweden), TEOSTO (Finland), GEMA (Germany) and ASCAP (United States). These payments primarily cover music usage up to and including 2025.

As there was no distribution in July, Koda has been able to consolidate several payments into this distribution, contributing to the high payout level in this area.

Quarterly payments from TONO (Norway) and SOCAN (Canada) have been delayed due to technical challenges within the respective societies but are expected to be distributed in October 2026.

Next distribution is 17 September

How much will I get paid?

The royalty payment we send to you for the use of your music is based on several factors, depending on where the music is used. For example, on TV and radio, we talk about minute values, whereas streaming is based on the number of streams. Concerts are paid out based on the number of attendees and, among other things, ticket prices if any.
