Distribution Spotlight
Delayed Royalty Payments for TV Distribution
Royalty payments for TV distribution in 2026, which consist of music broadcast on flow TV channels through TV packages, are unfortunately still delayed. Upcoming royalty payments will continue to include distributions from the rest of the TV sector, meaning that only the portion of the royalty payment relating to TV distribution remains delayed.
Delay due to dispute with Nuuday/YouSee
Koda’s royalty payments for TV distribution is based on a distribution agreement with Copydan and UBOD, founded on a collective agreement with the TV distributors. This agreement expired on 31 December 2025, and a dispute with Nuuday/YouSee has resulted in the postponement of negotiations.
Unfortunately, we do not yet know when a new distribution agreement will be in place, and we sincerely apologise for the delay and any inconvenience it may cause.
Final payments for Radio and TV and Accumulated Performances in the USA
The May distribution includes final royalty payments for the use of music in 2025 across various areas. This covers final royalty payments for music played on national radio DR, commercial radio stations, and KNR – Greenland’s Broadcasting Corporation in 2025. Additionally, it includes final royalty payments for music used on national tv DR and TV 2’s channels during the same period.
Internationally, there is a general consolidation of smaller amounts received from Koda’s sister society ASCAP. This includes works that have accumulated value throughout the year and have now been fully processed and are ready for distribution.
How much will I get paid?
The royalty payment we send to you for the use of your music is based on several factors, depending on where the music is used. For example, on TV and radio, we talk about minute values, whereas streaming is based on the number of streams. Concerts are paid out based on the number of attendees and, among other things, ticket prices if any.
