Registration of a high number of works per year
If you wish to register an unusually large number of works with Koda, Koda reserves the right to charge an administrative fee. The first 100 works you register within a calendar year are free of charge. For each work registered beyond the first 100, an administrative fee of DKK 100 plus VAT will be charged. Koda will assess on a case-by-case basis whether the fee should be applied.
Administrative costs
The reason for this is that the registration of very large numbers of works may result in significant additional costs relating to administration, data storage, processing of work data, matching and verification. Generally, the additional costs of processing a very large number of registrations should be borne by the member registering the works, rather than by Koda’s other members.
Common International Rules
Koda is part of an international network of collective management organisations and follows the common rules that apply in this area. Some of these rules are referred to as KYC (Know Your Customer).
KYC means that Koda must know its members. Koda must also be able to ensure that the works they register are copyright-protected works created through human creative effort. Among other things, this means that Koda may in certain cases need to ensure that the material in question is not mass-produced or automated content that does not meet the requirements for copyright protection, for example because it is AI-generated.
In most cases, you as a member will not notice any difference. In certain cases, however, Koda may need to obtain additional information about how the works were created or how the registrations were made. If this becomes relevant, we will contact you and request the information necessary to process the registration. This is part of the international obligations that Koda is required to comply with.
