August 2024

Koda’s August distribution 2024 took place on Thursday 15 August. For a full overview of the areas and performance periods included, see the Koda distribution schedule
TV and Radio

The August 2024 distribution covers all TV and Radio areas where distributions are made monthly. Given that no distribution was made in July, this distribution concerns performances in April and May 2024.  What is more, in several areas you may find that performances from June 2024 have also already been reported, processed and are ready for distribution.

Furthermore, the August 2024 distribution covers music use in all of 2023 for the TV channels Kanal 4, Kanal 5, 6’eren, Canal 9 and Uptown TV. Within the field of radio, final settlements are made for 2023 as regards radio channels operated by DR as well as commercial radio channels (The Voice, NOVA, POP FM and others).

Online

In terms of Online use of music, the August distribution includes the monthly distribution for the music streaming service Nuuday Musik (YouSee Musik og Telmore Musik), covering performances in June.

Furthermore, the August distribution includes distributions for DR On Demand, covering all of 2023. DR On Demand encompasses DR’s AV-platform DRTV (Series, Films etc.) and DR’s audio service DR LYD (Podcasts, web radio etc.). In collaboration with DR, Koda has taken steps to optimise the reporting and processing flow within this area, enabling Koda to complete its processing even more efficiently in future, thereby making distributions faster. As of 2024, distributions for DR On Demand will be made quarterly, as is the case for Netflix and TV2 Play.

A final settlement is also made within the area of Interactive TV services for the period 2021–2022. The funds come from arrears payments made for music use in On Demand TV content offered via web players at various TV distributors. You can read more about Koda’s distributions for Interactive TV services here

Concert and Background music

As regards concerts, the August distribution covers all concerts where music reporting has been processed and completed and where Koda has received all necessary information from the concert promoter (for example about ticket revenues per concert). This time, this may include distributions held up to and including July 2024, and it includes distributions for concerts given at this year’s instalments of the Danish music festivals Northside and Copenhell. The August distribution also sees the first distributions being made for concerts held in the Tivoli amusement park in Copenhagen during the first part of 2024.

The August distribution also includes a final distribution pertaining to subsidised concerts 2019–2021.

Within the Background area, a final settlement for 2023 is made for ‘Background sections – without reporting’. You can find more information about Koda’s Background sections here
